June Exhibitions: “Juneteenth: A Celebration of Black Artists” & “PRIDE” Submission Forms Open

During the month of June, MAC will highlight area Black artists in “Juneteenth: A Celebration of Black Artists,” and LQBTQ+ artists and allies in support of the LGBTQ+ community for a “PRIDE” exhibition.

Juneteenth: A Celebration of Black Artists

While it is encouraged that artists submit works that fall under a “Juneteenth” theme, it is not a requirement. All media forms are eligible, and each participating artist can submit up to 5 pieces for consideration. Submissions are due May 24th, 2023, and all artists will be notified for exhibition acceptance by end of day on May 26th, 2023. MAC Membership is strongly encouraged by all participants, but not required.

PRIDE

We encourage all participating artists to submit at least one Pride-themed work. All media types are eligible, and each participating artist can submit up to 5 pieces for consideration. Submissions are due May 24th, 2023, and all artists will be notified for exhibition acceptance by end of day on May 26th, 2023. MAC Membership is strongly encouraged by all participants, but not required.

The Mobile Arts Council strives to foster a diverse and accepting culture throughout the Mobile arts scene, and hopes that this will be able to highlight the wonderful Black and LGBTQ+ artists in the Mobile area.

Hey Charles! You could enter work into both shows or just one. We can write out something beside your work to acknowledge that you are a participant in both shows as well!
