Mobile Arts Council Satellite Galleries
The Mobile Arts Council (MAC) is pleased to announce the launch of three satellite exhibition sites, expanding public access to work by local artists across the city.
The Vault at Vets Recovery – The satellite program began through a partnership with Vets Recover, which sought artwork for its new Midtown center. The organization requested pieces reflecting themes of patriotism, military service, the Gulf Coast, and the Mobile area—works intended to support veterans in recovery.
Fine art photographers Jennifer and Hailey Clifton are featuring their images of Mobile landscapes and landmarks. Artist Bob Halcombe is also exhibiting oil-on-velour paintings of military aircraft and has donated three works for permanent installation in the center’s residential wing. The public gallery, The Vault at Vets, is located at 1200 Spring Hill Avenue and is open for visits.
Atelier Alley at The Frenchman – MAC has partnered with Love and Adventures Studios at The Frenchman to establish Atelier Alley, a corridor gallery connecting the business spaces at 222 and 224 Dauphin Street. The inaugural exhibition features Katie Thompson, whose work includes portraits, animal subjects, and large-scale abstracts.
The Preview at the Portal at Innovation Portal – The third satellite gallery, The Preview at the Portal, opened this week in partnership with Innovation Portal at 358 St. Louis Street. This rotating exhibition offers an advance look at works scheduled for upcoming shows at the MAC Art Gallery in Room 1927 at 6 South Joachim Street.
The first featured artists are Ben Kaiser and Vanessa Quintana, presenting a selection from their October 2026 exhibition, “Cottage Core.” All displayed works are available for early purchase through Mobile Arts Council and will remain on view through the close of the October show at the MAC Gallery.
Each satellite location offers a distinct venue for showcasing local artists and brings exhibitions to new audiences throughout Mobile.
