The Association for the Study of African American Life and History® (ASALH) has established the 2025 theme for Black History Month as “African Americans and Labor”, with the goal of focusing on the various ways that work and labor have intersected with the collective experiences of Black people. Make plans to join MPRD at Robert Hope Community Center on Friday, February 7 as they honor this theme with a full day of engaging activities including a career fair and creating vision boards.
Current Program Layout:
10:00 a.m. – Early Morning Bingo Game with our Retired Laborers and Friends: Led by the SAIL Team. Coffee, fruit and pastries will be served.
10:30 a.m. – Employment Fair: To include opportunities for YES Workers and other City employment offerings for the Summer. Lasts until 4:30 p.m.
2:45 p.m. – Vision Boards/Craft Activity. Materials will be provided. Lasts until 5:00 p.m.
6:00 p.m. – Black History Program. More details to come. Refreshments will be served.
