Artys

The Artys is Mobile’s only awards program that acknowledges the priceless contributions made to the arts and cultural community across all realms of the arts. For nineteen years, Mobile Arts Council has presented these awards to recognize the creative achievements of individuals, organizations, and businesses. Each year members of the community submit nominations, which are then narrowed down to a winner in each category by a panel of arts professionals.

The 2024 event will be held Thursday, March 21st, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Riverview Plaza Hotel. Tickets are now available online for $65 and will be $75 at the door. The 19th annual awards show will feature a catered dinner, cash bar and live performances by the Symone French Trio, Mobile Ballet, Sunny Side Theater, Mobile Alabama Africatown Drummers, and SOULS OF TIME

This year, the arts organization is honoring Katia Garza, Mobile Opera Costume Guild, Ate Stax, Festival of Flowers, Andra Bohnet, Scott Lumpkin, Ben Raines, Drew Nix, Sunny Side Theater, Commissioner Merceria Ludgood, Lynda Smith Touart, and JoAnn Cox. This year’s Arty awards, which are always an original work of art, were created by local quilt maker, Nancy Goodman.

We are still accepting nominations for "The Final Curtain" to the 19th Annual Artys awards ceremony. This segment of the event will acknowledge and honor the individuals who have recently passed away (2023-present) but played a role in impacting the arts and cultural community in Mobile.

This event is sponsored by the Mobile County Commission, Airbus, New Horizons Credit Union, Alabama Public Radio, Cruise Planners, Downtown Mobile Alliance, and Michael Smith and Karen Carr. If you are interested in sponsoring the event, please contact Angela Montgomery.
