March Organization Member of the Month
Congratulations to our March Organization Member of the Month Dad Company Improv!
If you’ve strolled through ArtWalk, you may have spotted a table with nothing for sale—just flyers, dad jokes, and a lot of laughter. That’s Dad Company Improv.
Formed in 2020 when four dads suddenly found themselves with unexpected free time, Dad Company has since evolved into… four dads with slightly less free time. What hasn’t changed is their commitment to bringing quick wit, playful energy, and fearless improvisation to audiences across the Gulf Coast. What began on local community theatre stages in Mobile has grown into performances at shows, renaissance faires, and comedy festivals throughout the Southeast.
Known for their wildly entertaining and delightfully chaotic improv shows, Dad Company creates entire performances on the spot—characters, stories, and dialogue all inspired by audience suggestions. Their performers—Barney March, Chip Goff, Lesley Harper, and Steven Castle (affectionately known as the “four fathers of improv”)—have built a loyal following of comedy and theatre lovers across Mobile, earning them the 2025 Nappie Award for Best Local Comedian.
And they’re just getting started. Dad Company is currently organizing Alabama’s first-ever improv comedy festival, the Mobile Improv Comedy Carnival, debuting April 17–18. The festival will feature 17 improv troupes from across the country, promising a one-of-a-kind weekend of laughter right here in Mobile. Weekend passes are available now for $55 and include access to all performances.
Congratulations to Dad Company Improv—may success keep “yes, and”-ing you!
