The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and the Office of Community Engagement invite you to the Unity Project on March 16 and 17. In collaboration with Mobile United, together we will create a public art demonstration of unity to celebrate our uniqueness and strengthen our ties to each other. The project consists of 32 posts, each with identifiers such as, “I’m a parent; I speak English as a second language;” etc. Participants tie colorful yarn to posts that reflect their identities. Their yarn intertwines with others’ to create a web on interconnectedness. In the end, we see that we are all connected by something, and it’s our diversity that builds a strong and vibrant community. Come to the Student Center Amphitheater anytime between 10:00am – 3:00pm, March 16 and 17. The Mobile community will be invited to attend on March 17. See you there.
