Tara Janique is a vocalist, arts entrepreneur, arts philanthropist, and arts educator.
She’s performed on several platforms including before the president and Carnegie Hall with Alcorn State University Concert Choir. She’s served as lead vocalist in a plethora of jazz band performances. She was featured on a number of Christian artists’ recording projects. She is currently the lead jazz singer of Alvin King’s jazz band-The Fifth Connection.
Her performance repertoire includes a versatile mix of jazz, Christian music and Gospel, classical, folk, r & b, and blues. Her influences are broad, from Tremaine Hawkins to Lizz Wright to Kathleen Battle.
She studied music on both undergraduate and graduate levels. She’s passionate about music education and the relationship between arts and Christianity. She spends her time promoting upcoming artists in various artistic disciplines.
