Klezmer music is a type of Jewish folk music generally used to accompany dancing at celebratory events – wedding receptions, anniversary parties and birthdays. In the 1920s, klezmer music in America was influenced by popular music of the period like ragtime, blues and jazz.
December’s Jazz Jambalaya, this year on the third Monday, will feature klezmer selections and traditional holiday jazz from Joe Occhipinti & Friends.
Admission includes a light jambalaya dinner, beverage bar, door prizes and more. $10-$15 admission at door, cash preferred for admission and donations.
