“Duke. George Duke” featuring The Cedric Brooks Project
MOJO (Mystic Order of Jazz Obsessed) brings its Jazz Jambalaya to the Library. Enjoy an evening of live jazz!
A prime mover in the West Coast jazz “fusion revolution,” the five-time Grammy-winning musician gleefully jumps from jazz to fusion to funk to rock. “I’ve always been a musical gumbo,” said George Duke, keyboard pioneer, composer, singer-songwriter and record producer.
Duke’s gumbo bowl of music style will be performed by The Cedric Brooks Project featuring Carlos Vizoso (saxophone), Nya (guitar), Cory Johnson (bass), Steve Jacobs (drums), Mac McGee & Shelley Brown (vocals) and Brooks (keyboard) at MOJO’s January Jazz Jambalaya.
Tickets can be purchased at the door; $10 for members, $15 for guests and $12 for students/Military with ID. Special Snowbird discount, $10 with ID.
