Mobile Museum of Art: Metalsmithing, Hoop Earrings

Create beautiful sterling hoop earrings with a little bling in this metalsmithing class designed for beginners or for those who have taken a metalsmithing class or two. Students will create their own hoop earrings adding gold and/or dangles for their hoops.

They will apply traditional metalsmithing techniques such as cutting metal, forging, forming, soldering, drilling, and polishing to create their own beautiful earrings. The instructor will demo how to work with gold, sterling, and small gem drops and work alongside students to support their progress. Choose your favorite style and make these for yourself or as a gift.

This class will extend the range of hoop earring selections from the previous class taught in November, but enrollment in the previous class is not a requirement for this one.
