Students ages 5+ are invited to MMofA’s Saturday Studio Workshops for kids. On select Saturdays join them in their education classrooms to explore materials, make connections, and create using a wide variety of artistic materials and processes. Each artist will guide participants through concept to completion, taking home an original artwork inspired by museum collections.
SEPTEMBER 6 – SHAPES & COLORS IN NATURE | Session 1: 10 am – 12 pm
This session will introduce students to shapes and forms in nature by using leaves, branches, and other natural objects to imprint on watercolor paper. To make this activity fun and engaging, students will also learn the art of origami, a Japanese paper folding technique. Students may join one session or all three to dive deeper into exploring more connections between nature and art.
