Students ages 5+ are invited to MMofA’s Saturday Studio Workshops for kids. On select Saturdays join them in their education classrooms to explore materials, make connections, and create using a wide variety of artistic materials and processes. Each artist will guide participants through concept to completion, taking home an original artwork inspired by museum collections.
Two Sessions Available
SEPTEMBER 13 – PORTRAITS FOR KIDS WITH ELSA PEYTON | Session 1 – 10am – 12pm
Children ages 8+ will learn human facial proportions, value, and color theory in using charcoal transferring techniques to create an acrylic self-portrait.
SEPTEMBER 13 – STUFFED PUPPETS WITH HANNAH JEWELL | Session 2 – 12pm – 2pm
Students will explore felts, fibers, and attachments techniques in creating your own stuffed puppet from start to finish. Students will come up with an idea for their puppet, and be lead from sketch to final piece in creating a miniature stuffed puppet.
