Come join Mobile United’s Natural Resources Committee, along with Mobile Baykeeper, Alabama Coastal Foundation, and Dog River Clear Water Revival for a day of service on Saturday, January 19, 2019. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. with special guest speakers, cleanup from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with lunch concluding the event from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Below is a detailed schedule of events:

8:30 – 9:00 a.m.: Volunteers will register, sign waivers, and get assigned to different locations. Mobile United will welcome everyone and speakers will give brief speeches to kick off the event.

9:00 – 11:00 a.m.: Volunteers will report to assigned locations and pick up litter.

11:00 – 11:30 a.m.: Following the cleanup, Dew Drop hot dogs, chips, and waters will be given to volunteers.

Important to Know:
There will be three different cleanup locations this year: Three Mile Creek, One Mile Creek, and Eslava Creek Canal. Volunteers interested in cleaning up at Three Mile and One Mile Creek will meet at Tricentennial Park (2121 Lake Drive) before being assigned to a respective location. One Mile Creek will be a kayak/canoe only cleanup and if you have your own boat, please bring it with you. Three Mile Creek’s cleanup will take place both on land and water. Mobile Area Water and Sewer System (MAWSS) will provide water and reusable water bottles for volunteers.

The cleanup at Eslava Creek Canal involves tough terrain and we encourage participants that are looking for a more challenging cleanup to participate in this effort. Volunteers that would like to help clean up at the Eslava Creek Canal should meet at the Wal Mart (101 East Interstate 65 Service Road South, Mobile, AL 36606) parking lot.

Volunteers should dress comfortably in warm clothing that you do not mind getting a little wet or dirty. You are encouraged to wear boots and/or waders & bring reusable water bottles.
