For the first time in Mobile, the Joe Jefferson Playhouse presents “Mamma Mia,” the smash hit musical based on the songs of ABBA. In the show, a young woman planning her wedding contrives to invite her mother’s former paramours to the ceremony, in hope of meeting her real father and having him escort her down the aisle on her big day.

There will be nine performances from Friday, Aug. 10, to Sunday, Aug. 26. Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $20; $15 for seniors and military; $10 for students.
