Join the History Museum of Mobile for this special *FREE* event in the Fort Conde courtyard on Monday, April 7, 2025 at 12 pm!
Colonial Fort Conde is proud to be part of Lafayette 200, a tour sponsored by The American Friends of Lafayette who are hosting educational programming across the United States and in France to commemorate the Bicentennial of Lafayette’s return to America as the “Guest of the Nation.” His stop in Mobile is one of hundreds of events planned that will trace Lafayette’s footsteps on the exact dates and in the exact order he followed on his tour of America between 1824 and 1825.
In recognition of the tour of the United States taken by Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette, the History Museum of Mobile invites guests to partake in a unique historical reenactment about Lafayette’s visit to Mobile as the last stop of the Alabama leg of his tour. Guests will be able to interact with Lafayette himself as well as other living history interpreters who will speak on life in Mobile during the early American period after Alabama became a state in 1819.
