Join us at Oakleigh to celebrate the 212th birthday of Madame Octavia Walton LeVert. Step back through the ages and into the life of one of the most famous women in Mobile history. At this very special birthday event guests will get to see rare archival items relating to Octavia’s life and participate in an intimate discussion with local author Paula Webb.
Guests will receive a party favor and have the option of partaking in refreshments, including birthday cake!
Paula Webb is the author of Such A Woman: The Life of Madame Octavia Walton Levert, Mobile Under Siege: Surviving the Union Blockade, and co-author of Mississippi Mojo and Murder: Tale of the Blues with Mary Palmer. She currently works as the Outreach and Communications Librarian at the University of South Alabama.
