Steve McMillian said in a release. “It is a well-thought-out and thoroughly researched book that offers the reader a fascinating journey into the history of the Muskogee/Creek Indians. Lou offers timeless material that helps the reader truly navigate the historical, genealogical, and biographical base of the Alabama Creek Indians.”

​About the author: Lou Vickery is an Alabama Creek Indian through the Moniac lineage…one of the original Poarch Creek families. He has had four distinct careers: a professional baseball player; stockbroker for Merrill Lynch; professional sales and marketing trainer; and radio and TV show host.

After graduating from Escambia County High School in Atmore, Lou signed a professional baseball contract with the St. Louis Cardinals. Over a ten-year career, Lou also played for the New York Yankees organization and coached in the Cincinnati Reds organization.

Lou got his B.S. degree from Troy State University (AL), graduating after his baseball career. He coached a year in Troy, then spent four years with Merrill Lynch as an Account Executive. Lou moved into the training and development field in l974. After 1980, he did contract training for numerous national organizations and over a thirty (30) year period worked with over 2,800 companies in 44 states and two foreign countries. Lou spent 14 years as a co-host and host of a talk radio show. Presently, Lou is co-host of UP TALK, a TV show that airs on Roku, Amazon Fire, and Apple TV platforms at uptalktv.com.
