Breathe life into your studio paintings by using plein air impressions.  Working from life, especially in the outdoors, helps you see things you just don’t see on a photograph. The mood of the atmosphere, the true colors, and the excitement of the scene can only be experienced first hand in the field. Capture more than just a visual record of the scene by infusing your work with experience and emotion.
In this class, students will gather impressions of the natural world with sketches, color mixing, photos and journal pages. Then we will head indoors with all this information and create at least one finished painting that is filled with the true colors and feelings of the outdoors. The result will be a painting done with heightened awareness of the scene, but without the pressures of painting outdoors the entire time. All students receive my new workbook, “Impressions from the Field“.
