The Dauphin Island Heritage and Arts Council (DIHAC) is delighted to announce, “Corks for a Cause,” a special fundraising event to support free art classes for active seniors 65+ in South Mobile County. The event will take place on Thursday, April 24th from 6 to 8 PM at The Carriage on Dauphin Island, located at 1522 Bienville Blvd, Dauphin Island, AL 36528.

For $40 per person, attendees can enjoy delicious small bites prepared by Executive Chef Suzanne Phillips, a cash bar, live music, and breathtaking sunset views from the venue’s deck, all while contributing to a wonderful cause. The evening will feature a silent auction featuring art work by local artists, providing an opportunity for guests to take home unique pieces while supporting the arts in our community. Tickets are limited, so secure your spot as soon as possible to help keep the arts alive for our community’s cherished seniors.

About DIHAC’s Senior Art Classes:
Our Senior Art Classes with professional artist Carolyn Greene are more than just a creative outlet—they are a source of joy, self-expression, and meaningful connection for the seniors in our community. Designed for active adults 65+, these sessions offer a welcoming and relaxing space to explore art through watercolors, acrylics, and other mediums tailored to the group’s interests. These classes foster meaningful friendships, encourage self-discovery, and provide a sense of belonging. Whether rediscovering a lifelong passion or trying something new, participants find inspiration and fulfillment in our Senior Art Classes.

This event is generously hosted by The Carriage: Dauphin Island.
