Join the Dauphin Island Art Gallery for the inaugural Plein Air Dauphin Island, a celebration of the art of painting in the natural environment!
Artists will be painting scenes of the Island’s wonderful natural environment and many of its historic and iconic landmarks during the entire weekend! The Island’s rich history and natural beauty will be the inspiration for both area and travelling artists.
From sunrise to sunset, artists will set up all over the Island with portable easels, chairs, and umbrellas and do what they love – paint! Come to Dauphin Island, Alabama and be inspired by the beauty and unique character of this Gulf Coast barrier island and the neighboring fishing villages of Bayou La Batre and Coden.
Dauphin Island welcomes top regional plein air artists to this 4th renewal. Registrations open January 2, 2024. Hosted by The Dauphin Island Gallery LLC. Painting starts April 26.
