Join the Mobile Public Library’s “Creativity Creates Community” Film Series this July on Tuesdays at 10 am. Screenings will be held in Bernheim Hall at the Ben May Main Library. This event is free to the public.

July 11th
Paper & Glue (2021) Graffiti artist and photographer JR brings community together
through large-format installations of immersive art. See the impact of creativity in

Loving Vincent (2017) This creation, the world’s first fully painted feature film, brought
together a community of 125 professional oil-painters to hand paint 65,000 frames which bring Vincent van Gogh’s paintings to life. The story follows a young man who ends up investigating the controversy of van Gogh’s final days. 1hr 34 min

Art of the Game: Ukiyo-e Heroes (2017) The traditional art of Ukiyo-e is used to make
wood block prints of contemporary video game characters. Meet the community of artists and craftsmen it takes to create prints through the ancient Japanese art, including master carvers, Japanese handmade paper craftsmen, traditional tool makers, and the digital artist/designer.
