Africatown Heritage House is hosting its April 2025 Heritage Lecture Series event, a collection of speeches designed to touch on topics related to the Black experience. Rochelle Crenshaw Williams will present her lecture entitled: “Living a Healthy Life Physically and Mentally in the Community.”

ABOUT ROCHELLE CRENSHAW WILLIAMS: Rochelle Crenshaw is a dedicated member of the community and a healthcare professional with deep roots in Africatown Plateau community. With a passion for improving the health and well-being of her community, Rochelle has made it her mission to empower individuals to take control of their health.

Rochelle and her husband, Charles Williams, have homesteaded her grandparents’ home demonstrating their commitment to the community. Both Rochelle’s parents, Willie James Crenshaw and Shirley Crenshaw, were born and raised in the community and were high school sweethearts. Charlie’s mother, Nora Williams, also spent part of her childhood growing up in Plateau community. They all attended Mobile County Training School, solidifying their ties to the community.

Rochelle founded Africatown Plateau Pacers, a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to motivating individuals to prioritize their health through education and regular routine of 30 minutes of cardio and walking. Her vision is to inspire a healthier, more vibrant community. Plateau Pacers’ motto is #HEALTHISWEALTH.

Rochelle holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and an MBA in Healthcare Administration, showcasing her expertise in the healthcare field. Rochelle has now become a certified Community Health Worker, allowing her to educate and support her community. As a Community Health Worker, she works for Franklin Primary Health Clinic in Case Management.

Rochelle is making a meaningful differences in the lives of those she serves. Her passion for community health and education drives her work, and she is committed to continuing to support and empower her community.

The History Museum of Mobile and Africatown Heritage House invite the public to attend this FREE Heritage Lecture Series.
