During this 4-week class (8 hours), participants will learn the essentials of oil painting, including color theory, paint application, substrate preparation, and brushwork, and will practice various ways to begin a painting.
The class will include a brief study of several pieces in the museum’s permanent collection and culminate in an alla prima paint-along in which participants will explore paint handling and composition.
