Inaugural Mobtown Mural Fest!

Mobile Arts Council Announces Inaugural Mural Festival for September 12–13, 2026

The Mobile Arts Council is proud to announce the inaugural MobTown Mural Festival, a two-day celebration of public art that will bring local artists together to create vibrant new murals. The public is invited to watch live mural paintings on both walls as well as three dimensional 4’x4’ cubes located throughout downtown Mobile on September 12–13, 2026.

As Mobile’s first large-scale mural festival, the event will transform walls, public spaces, and unexpected locations into dynamic works of art, creating a lasting visual legacy while showcasing the city’s growing creative community. Throughout the weekend, residents and visitors will have the opportunity to watch artists at work, meet muralists, and explore Mobile through a new artistic lens.

The festival will feature a curated roster of artists selected for their creativity, technical skill, and ability to create site-specific works that reflect the culture, history, and spirit of Mobile. In addition to permanent wall murals, the festival will include large movable murals that will be strategically placed through the downtown area.

“MobTown Mural Festival is an exciting milestone for Mobile’s arts community,” said Angela Montgomery, Executive Director of the Mobile Arts Council. “Public art has the power to bring people together, create a sense of place, and inspire civic pride. This festival will not only beautify our city but also create the opportunity for visitors and residents to experience live art in action.”

The festival is part of the Mobile Arts Council’s ongoing commitment to expanding public art opportunities and making the arts accessible to all residents.

Additional details, including participating artists, mural locations, and sponsors will be announced in the coming months.
