April: Biennial FIVE Competition

“Five” is a juried exhibition of work by students from the area’s five colleges and universities, sponsored every other year by the Mobile Arts Council. The exhibition is open to any student – not only students studying art – enrolled during any part of the 2025 – 2026 academic year at Bishop State Community College, Coastal Alabama Community College, Spring Hill College, the University of Mobile, or the University of South Alabama.

Students may submit up to three pieces in any medium/style, created while enrolled in their current school. Students receive a free, one-year Mobile Arts Council membership for applying, as well as cash prizes for the winners.

This year, 62 pieces from over 40 students are on display. Thank you to Sophiella Gallery, Lupercalia Art Society, Ashland Gallery, and the Mobile Museum of Art for sponsoring this year’s prizes. Thank you to our judge, Kimberly Zukley, for jurying the pieces that make up this exhibition, and thank you to all of the students and professors who make this wonderful competition possible!

Join is for an opening reception from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. during ArtWalk on April 10th! Awards will be presented at 7:00 p.m.

The MAC Gallery @ Room 1927 will be closed April 18th for a private event.
