Congratulations to our Organization Member of the Month, The Mobile Carnival Museum!

The Mobile Carnival Museum is one of only a handful of museums in the world dedicated to the international cultural phenomenon of Carnival. They focus on how Carnival, with Mardi Gras, Fat Tuesday, as its height, is celebrated here in Mobile. Well known as the birthplace of modern-day American Carnival, Mobile is the “Mother of Mystics.”

Carnival’s rich history and exciting present are showcased at the Museum. Housed within a historic mansion located at 355 Government Street, the Carnival Museum’s eighteen galleries present Carnival as an art form, an economic engine, a good time, and a family affair. The Museum tells the story of Mobile through its greatest living tradition of Carnival. Cuisine, couture, humor, and nature inform the narrative. The Mobile Carnival Museum is open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The Museum also serves as an events venue. You cannot get a more truly Mobile experience than visiting the Mobile Carnival Museum.
