ART TALK: Terrence Spivey (An Ocean in My Bones) takes us on a journey through playwrights inspired by visual artists and historical and cultural moments. The award-winning director and playwright will look at the great August Wilson, discuss how the late artist Romare Bearden inspired his classics, The Piano Lesson and Joe Turner’s Come and Gone, and how the importance of black women’s church hats was the inspiration to Regina Taylor’s gospel musical, Crowns.
