In this theatre classic the world’s greatest-ever playwright, William Shakespeare, is young, out of ideas, and short of cash, but meets his ideal woman and is inspired to write one of his most famous plays.
“Shakespeare in Love” imagines the early life and creative process of William Shakespeare, focusing on his struggle with writer’s block and his burgeoning romance with Viola de Lesseps. To overcome his creative hurdle, Shakespeare seeks inspiration from Viola, a young woman disguised as a man to participate in his new play, which will eventually become “Romeo and Juliet”.
