Students ages 5+ are invited to MMofA’s Saturday Studio Workshops for kids. On select Saturdays join them in their education classrooms to explore materials, make connections, and create using a wide variety of artistic materials and processes. Each artist will guide participants through concept to completion, taking home an original artwork inspired by museum collections.
DECEMBER 6 – FAMILY CLAY GIFTS | Session 1: 10 am – 12 pm / Session 2: 12 – 2pm
What is better than a hand made gift? Families and friends will enjoy this opportunity to get creative together before the holidays and explore hand built pottery in this 2 hour family workshop. Guided by a teaching artist, each person in your family will have the opportunity to create a slab built mug, vase, or other hand built item.
*Clay works need to be fully dry before being placed in the kiln for firing, your ceramic pieces will remain at the museum 7 – 14 days to dry out, be fired in the kiln and be ready for you to pick up in their education lobby in time for the holiday.
