Eastern Shore Art Center welcomes all new exhibits, including two centered around our great Gulf Coast!

WHAT:

  • NEW EXHIBIT: “Colors of Spanish New Mexico” Traditional weaving by Don Sandoval. Don is (at least) a fifth generation weaver. He comes from a family rich in the New Mexico Spanish arts and crafts traditions. He works mainly in the Rio Grande style traditions of his ancestors, using hand-dyed (natural and chemical) churro wool yarn. Don creates tapestries by blending the three styles for his own interpretation of the Rio Grande style, as well as contemporary style tapestries.
  • NEW EXHIBIT: “Beachcombing: Impressions of the Gulf Coast”. Paintings by Theresa Grillo Laird. “This exhibit was inspired by the earnest effort to understand a landscape foreign to my northern roots. From Perdido Key to Rosemary Beach, and Pensacola to Bagdad, I carried my painting gear through dunes, over beaches and to the marshes that give the coast it’s character.”
  • NEW EXHIBIT: “Gulf of America” Watercolors by Herb Willey. “For the last 3 years I have devoted my time to painting life on a small portion of the Gulf Coast but now have expanded the entirety of the Gulf Coast. My paintings include aspects of dealing with life or everyday moments that an audience can bring back to life in their own way. Like Picasso, ‘I’m not afraid to paint what I see.’”

ETC: Live music from Karin and Eric Marrero

Event Sponsored by La-Z-Boy Furniture
