Mobile Arts Council is Awarded NEA Grant

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mobile, Ala. – The Mobile Arts Council has been approved for a $50,000 award as part of the National Endowment for the Arts’ Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. This grant will go toward salary and other facility expenses.

Development Director Angela Montgomery comments, “We are honored to be the only organization in Mobile to receive support through NEA’s CARES Act. It is vital that we, as an organization, continue to be a voice for all artists and arts organizations. Thanks to this $50,000 grant, MAC is able to continue our mission to enrich the quality of life in the greater Mobile area through increasing accessibility to the arts and promoting a vibrant cultural community.”

The National Endowment for the Arts awarded funds to over 800 nonprofit arts organizations across the country to help their employees endure the economic hardships caused by the COVID-19 national crisis.
