US Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District - Call for Artists

New Corps of Engineers Rendering

ABOUT THE UNITED STATES ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS

OVERVIEW OF PROJECT

The goal is to partner local artists, specifically from the Mobile Bay area, with the USACE (Mobile District) to beautify the interior of their new building in Downtown Mobile.

SCOPE OF PROJECT

Muralists, sculptors, and visual artists of all mediums from the Mobile Bay area are encouraged to apply. A selection committee will review all applications to ensure the best fit for each space in the new building. There are six separate applications for each area where art is desired. Artists will be commissioned $5,000-$10,000 for their work. Chosen applicants will receive a background check and must abide by all regulations and standards required by the United States Army Corps of Engineers while on their premises.

QUALIFICATIONS

The selection committee will only consider artists and artist teams with the following qualifications:
1. Must be 18 years or older.
3. Artist/artist teams must reside in the Mobile Bay area or have strong connections to the area, mainly through previously living in the area.
4. Have experience with projects of the proposed scale and resources available for completing the project.
5. Carry personal liability insurance for the duration of the project until installation is complete and accepted.
6. Meet all contractual obligations and adhere to the timeline provided.
