photography workshop led by Richard Dollison for Mobile Arts Council members

Members’ Cellphone Photography Workshop

Ready to take your phone photos from good to great?

Led by Richard Dollison, this beginner-friendly workshop focuses on the essentials of editing smartphone photos using free, powerful apps like Lightroom Mobile and Snapseed. You’ll learn how a few simple adjustments can dramatically improve your images, no complicated tools or presets required.

We’ll walk through a clear, step-by-step editing workflow, covering exposure and color correction, cropping and straightening, enhancing detail, and making subtle, selective edits for natural-looking results. Along the way, you’ll learn not just how to edit, but why certain adjustments make an impact.

After the basics, we’ll head out for a guided photo walk designed to capture images that push your editing skills, think high-contrast scenes and dynamic portraits. Then we’ll return to the studio for a live editing session, where you’ll transform your own photos in real time.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll feel confident editing your images for sharing, printing, or wherever your creativity takes you.

Preparation: Please download and install Adobe Lightroom Mobile and Snapseed on your device before the workshop.
