The Playhouse-in-the-Park presents a thrilling, and sometimes humorous, production based on the life and stories of Edgar Allan Poe, prolific author of tales of mystery and the macabre. Adaptations to be presented at the Playhouse include four of his most famous tales: “The Tell-Tale Heart”, “The Casque of Amontillado”, “Dr. Tarr and Professor Fether”, and a story of the medieval plague, “King Pest”. This performance is suitable for ages 12 and up. Show dates are Fridays and Saturdays, October 20, 21, 27, & 28 at 7:30 pm at the Playhouse. Tickets are $16.00 for adults and $14.00 for students and seniors. Please call 251.602.0630 to secure your reservations, or call 251-422-5434 with other questions.

An eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves! At least the losers get a juice box.
