Help Save the Crescent Theater!

The Crescent Theater has been a Downtown Mobile treasure for many years now.  Max has been able to bring award winning films to our city while providing the unique touch of a personal experience and verbal introduction to each film before each showing. The Crescent is truly a wonderful and character-filled staple of our community. There is a threat of it's doors closing for good in the next few months if funds cannot be raised.  Please consider donating to keep this Theater up and running, helping to preserve the charm of our Downtown area.

MMofA: IMPROVISATIONAL MUSIC GAMES

What happens when the notes a musician plays are determined by the roll of a dice? This June we have invited a group of seasoned musicians who are interested in the intersection between creative choice and chance. Having devised several playful approaches to sound making, each musician is charged with responding to the signs and signals of a deck of cards, hand signals, video, and other cues. Stylistically ranging from extreme minimalism to frenetic chaos, this will be a true exploration in sound. Performers include Mike Smith, Joel Andrews, Justin Skinner, and Jimmy Lee conducted by Ryan Jetten. Join us for an evening of musicians who play, in all senses of the word.
