“Holy Disney” Concert

Under the direction of Terry D. Maddox, M.M., the Greater Mobile Bay Area Choral Society will present their annual spring concert titled "Holy Disney." The concert features a selection of traditional spirituals followed by some favorite Disney classics, all arranged for choral performance. The concert is sure to delight and move the entire family. All concerts are free and open to the public.

Sunny Side Theater: Wizard of Oz

If it isn’t too late: Sunny Side Theater presents “The Wizard of Oz” April 28 - May 7 at the Moorer Center for Performing Arts on the St. Luke’s campus. The classic tale based on the 1939 movie features all of your favorite characters and songs. The characters will take to the air as Vertigo Flying Company comes in from Chicago to help them create the magic you remember from the movie. With over 70 of Mobile’s most talented young actors and actresses ranging from ages 5 - 18, this show will be the perfect family outing.

University of Mobile’s Spring Spectacular

Spring Spectacular is an annual showcase of many of University of Mobile’s 22 performing ensembles. The concert closes out the Performing Arts Series and spotlights some of the highlight performances of the past season. Beginning Sept. 1, individual tickets are $10 here and at the door.

THE MOBILE DELTA: Glass & Light

Rene Culler’s site-specific work is a mural in glass that celebrates the species-rich Delta and its atmospheric qualities. The Delta is a changeling environment which is constantly shaped and molded by the weather and waterways. As the grasses, almost transparent, catch the light, Culler’s drawings and painting in glass suggest the landscape that southern Alabama holds so dear. The composition is a wall of natural light utilized as a glass canvas for drawing, painting and printing with vitreous enamels. Slumped dimensional panels and blown glass abstractly portray the location’s dimensionality.
