University of Mobile Visit Day

University of Mobile is offering $2,000 scholarships to prospective students who attend a campus Visit Day and enroll at the Christ-centered, academically rigorous university in south Alabama. Visit Days give high school and transfer students a close-up look at college life at a Christ-centered learning community with rigorous academics. Visit Day includes a campus tour, academic meetings with professors, information about admission and financial aid, and a visit with current students. Visit Days are Sept. 16, Oct. 10 and Nov. 18 in 2016; and Feb. 3 and March 3 in 2017. Register for a UM Visit Day online.

MPL: Teen Book Yak & Movie Snack- Great Gilly Hopkins

Enjoy the Book – Watch the Movie! A smart-mouthed 12-year-old girl bounces around from one foster home to the next, causing trouble at each stop with her unruly behavior. The film runs 99 minutes and is rated PG.

ESAC: First Friday Art Walk

Enjoy three new exhibits at Eastern Shore Art Center, including: “One Hundred Stories” Mini Paintings by Lucy Hunnicutt, Chagall: The Collection of Richard John deMaagd, and ESAC's Members' Juried Show.  The Juried Show is an annual exhibit which showcases various work from the members of the Eastern Shore Art Association. Awards will be given out for this show at 6:30 pm.
