Snowbird Special at Bellingrath Gardens and Home

Save on Gardens-and-Home combination tickets with Bellingrath’s Snowbird Special, a discount for all ages in January and February. With the Snowbird Special, an adult Gardens-and-Home ticket costs $16.50 (regular price: $21) and a child Gardens-and-Home ticket costs $11.50 (regular price: $13). There is no admission fee for members of the Friends of Bellingrath, or for ages 4 and younger. The Gardens open at 8 a.m. and the last Home tour of the day is at 4 p.m. For details, visit bellingrath.org.

“Behind the Mask”: Honoring Ellen Jones- Call to Artists

You are invited to participate in the 1st Annual "Behind the Mask" Silent Auction and Retrospect honoring Ellen Jones.  This will take place on August 18, 2017... But before then, artists are needed who would like to use creativity in designing a mask for the silent auction.  Each artist participant will recieve a numbered mask form and an arts and craft item from Ellen's art studio to include in their Mask Creation. MPL: African-American Read-In: Books, Poetry, Skits & Songs

Come out and join our special guests and community partners as we celebrate Black Heritage in reading, poetry, storytelling and songs. AARI is a national literacy initiative ongoing since 1989, sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) beginning in 1990, and later endorsed by the International Reading Association.

Winter Wednesdays at Bellingrath Gardens and Home

Even during the cold season, Bellingrath Gardens is filled with blooms and beauty! During the winter months, Gulf Coast residents and visitors are invited to enjoy the Gardens and to learn more about gardening and history at our Winter Wednesdays workshops. The sessions are held each week in the Magnolia Room from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. through Feb. 22. Admission to the program is included in the regular Gardens admission, and guests are encouraged to tour the Gardens after the session. MPL: Learn to Knit Class

Learn to knit with Ms. Wilhelmina Davis. Participants need to bring their own supplies. We recommend size 10, 10” long needles and a 7 oz. skein of regular, worsted weight yarn. Registration is required. Ages 8- adults.

USA Music: Rachel Nozny, Guest Artist Flute Recital

Flutist Rachel Nozny will present a program of mostly modern flute and piccolo music on Wednesday, February 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Laidlaw Performing Arts Center.  Highlights of the concert will include the world premiere of composer Adam Silverman's "Together" for flute and vibraphone (featuring percussionist Dr. Brian Nozny), selections of modern works for flute and piccolo with pianist Dr. Jasmin Arakawa, and a flute trio with the Mobile Symphony flute section (also featuring Andra Bohnet and Travis Jones).
