University of Mobile Visit Day

University of Mobile is offering $2,000 scholarships to prospective students who attend a campus Visit Day and enroll at the Christ-centered, academically rigorous university in south Alabama. Visit Days give high school and transfer students a close-up look at college life at a Christ-centered learning community with rigorous academics. Visit Day includes a campus tour, academic meetings with professors, information about admission and financial aid, and a visit with current students. Visit Days are Sept. 16, Oct. 10 and Nov. 18 in 2016; and Feb. 3 and March 3 in 2017. Register for a UM Visit Day online.

Snowbird Special at Bellingrath Gardens and Home

Save on Gardens-and-Home combination tickets with Bellingrath’s Snowbird Special, a discount for all ages in January and February. With the Snowbird Special, an adult Gardens-and-Home ticket costs $16.50 (regular price: $21) and a child Gardens-and-Home ticket costs $11.50 (regular price: $13). There is no admission fee for members of the Friends of Bellingrath, or for ages 4 and younger. The Gardens open at 8 a.m. and the last Home tour of the day is at 4 p.m. For details, visit bellingrath.org.
